i'm sorry!!!!

i'm such a slacker, but since nobody reads this i'm sure it's ok. anyway, here are the important parts:

1. i hope everyone had a good raw food week experience. mine was great. of course i caved a few times and by the end of the week it was basically over, but that was because i found it successful. i'm still eating just fruit for breakfast (except on days like today where i'm hungover and tired, and then perhaps a pizza bagel and diet pepsi!) and veggies with hummus for lunch. although i sometimes want a sandwich or something before i sit down, once i get into delicious fresh veggies and hummus it's pretty much on. so, my body has the ability to clean itself out and feel healthy until i get home from work. good times. i hope you got something out of it.

2. last week was take a 15 minute walk and i forgot to post it. i'm sorry. i was not as diligent as i should have been, but ran a few times during the week for that time, so it's decent. should have been more active.

3. this week is do something nice for someone. i also want to welcome james caverly into our group. great dude and enthusiastic. just the combo we need! so, go do something nice for someone and i promise that i will try my darndest to keep more up to date on this. much love.

raw food

well, here it is, the week of serious trial.

this week is raw food week. do a google search for info and recipes, as there is so much to go through i can't decide what is best for each person. regardless, i'll give you a run down of my projected week food ideas:

-banana/apple for breakfast
-nuts/raisins for snacks throughout the day
-cut veggies and hummus/peanut butter for lunch (i realize hummus is questionable, but i'm going with it)
-various dinners: big salads, salsa/guacamole with "chips" (dehydrated crushed corn, recipe to follow)

should be a crazy colon cleansing week. i hope you guys enjoy this. i also hope you're stocked with toilet paper.

from http://www.living-foods.com. i don't have a dehydrator, but i'm thinking the oven on 110 should work. maybe not. we'll see.

South of the border Corn Chips
Bobbi Clinger

4 c. sweet corn, fresh or frozen
1/2 t. garlic powder(opt)
1 t. chili powder(opt)
1 t. tomato powder(opt)

Chop corn in food processor w/ "s" blade until fine.

Add choice of seasonings "to taste" and process til combined.

On dehydrator tray, spread about 1/8" thick.

Score diagonally left to right, then across right to left into triangles, or preferred shape.

Dehydrate about 5 hours, or to desired texture.

jazzercize

hey dudes and dudettes!

i hope you enjoyed this week of journaling/writing and got some good thoughts down. i know i did. i have about six different books i write in, which i'm well aware is ridiculous, so it was fun to put a dent in a few of them.

this week is a fun/easy one. it's not actually jazzercize/cise, though that would be fun(ny). this week we are listening to jazz for 30 minutes each day. if you don't have any jazz music, you need to get some. any jazz you like will do, as long as it's not kenny g, or anything with the word smooth in front of it. if you need some suggestions, i'd be happy to give you them, otherwise, the world is your oyster.

there is also some prep work you need to do for next week, as it will be probably our hardest week yet. perhaps you can combine this week and the homework by listening to music while you do your research.

next week we are going to be raw foodists. that's right, raw food. it's a bit different than you think, in that food can be heated up to 105 degrees, the theory being that past that is where the enzimes and good qualities break down. this is not going to be easy, but it will be educational, informative, and probably colon cleansing. regardless, i think it will be worth it to try our best. it is only a week, so i think we can do it. fruit for breakfast, salad for lunch, those two are easy, dinner, that will be a bit harder. so, if you search raw food recipes on google, you'll find a ton. i don't have a food dehydrator, but i think i can probably use my oven set on 100 degrees. i hope this helps, and i hope you guys partake. much love and happy hunting.

two weeks

i made the mistake of not posting last week, i'm sorry. the few of you who read this, you'll just have to double up this week. ok, so, it wasn't easy, but last weeks jam was to introduce yourself to someone new and have a conversation with them. this was not the simplest goal, but it is well worth trying. we met some very nice people and began building relationships, even if just simple ones.

this week, the goal is to write for 10 minutes. you can write anything you'd like, be it poetry, short stories, lyrics, journals, whatever. i wish you the best of luck. enjoy.

draw a picture

last week was a good one, but reading books isn't necessarily all the new and exciting. regardless, it was nice to put some time aside to catch up on some bookage.

so, this week we're drawing pictures. that's right folks, one picture a day. now, this is an opportunity to really attempt a solid picture, especially if you can get your hands on a copy of 'drawing on the right side of the brain,' by betty edwards. i think that's her name. regardless, if you do the lessons, you'll definitely see results. if not too seriously, enjoy doodling something a bit more real than you normally would, and somewhere semi-permanent, like a journal or at least hung on your fridge. so, happy drawing!

read 25 pages

sam, i'm so glad you're onboard! so now we at least have jersey and south carolina involved. sweet! ah, the tangled web we weave.

telling people that you love them is a beautiful thing. it is rare in this day and age that people express their appreciations so easily and openly, and that is a shame. this week provided us with an avenue for open communication. it worked well here and i hope it was positive for you as well.

this week we are reading 25 pages from a book each day. this does not have to be an intense book or all from one book, but the idea of reading 25 pages each day to get the brain working seems like an enjoyable and profitable task. happy reading.

you can comment

just so you guys know, you can now post comments on here. if people begin doing so, i'll also be happy to figure out how to let you post as well. sweet, enjoy.

tell someone how important they are

well, it's not suprising that i didn't update this in a timely fashion, but then again, for right now, i don't think anyone is checking this. anyway, last week went really well, all those who participated said they either greatly enjoyed their ten minutes of meditation, or got nothing out of it, but in a sense, it's the journey that counts, and we all went on it. thank you to all who joined in, i hope you got something out of it.

this week (while halfway over, i'm sorry) is a great one:

tell someone who is important to you how important they are.

this can come in many forms, one of which can be to tell them you love them and care about them, which is a favorite of mine. you'll be happily suprised to see how this takes people off guard, and hopefully improves their day. if possible, maybe do this while they're at work to break up the day and perhaps they'll pass on the love. i hope you have important people in your life to tell this, and i hope you can get over the fear of opening yourself up to others. once you do this, you will feel a great freedom and release. with that, you are all important to me, so thank you for being part of my life. much love and happiness, enjoy your journey.
