read 25 pages

sam, i'm so glad you're onboard! so now we at least have jersey and south carolina involved. sweet! ah, the tangled web we weave.

telling people that you love them is a beautiful thing. it is rare in this day and age that people express their appreciations so easily and openly, and that is a shame. this week provided us with an avenue for open communication. it worked well here and i hope it was positive for you as well.

this week we are reading 25 pages from a book each day. this does not have to be an intense book or all from one book, but the idea of reading 25 pages each day to get the brain working seems like an enjoyable and profitable task. happy reading.

you can comment

just so you guys know, you can now post comments on here. if people begin doing so, i'll also be happy to figure out how to let you post as well. sweet, enjoy.

tell someone how important they are

well, it's not suprising that i didn't update this in a timely fashion, but then again, for right now, i don't think anyone is checking this. anyway, last week went really well, all those who participated said they either greatly enjoyed their ten minutes of meditation, or got nothing out of it, but in a sense, it's the journey that counts, and we all went on it. thank you to all who joined in, i hope you got something out of it.

this week (while halfway over, i'm sorry) is a great one:

tell someone who is important to you how important they are.

this can come in many forms, one of which can be to tell them you love them and care about them, which is a favorite of mine. you'll be happily suprised to see how this takes people off guard, and hopefully improves their day. if possible, maybe do this while they're at work to break up the day and perhaps they'll pass on the love. i hope you have important people in your life to tell this, and i hope you can get over the fear of opening yourself up to others. once you do this, you will feel a great freedom and release. with that, you are all important to me, so thank you for being part of my life. much love and happiness, enjoy your journey.

ten minutes

our first week will be enjoying ten (10) minutes of silent meditation every day. we started monday, but you can start today, i won't tell anyone. i hope you enjoy. concentrate on your breathing, either count down from a high number, or feel the breath come in and feel the breath go out. if another thought comes into your head, that is ok, but just let it go. i hope your enjoy your ten minutes.

welcome!

many moons ago my friend amelia and i decided that in the idea of fun, love, new experience, excitement, etc., we would try something new or interesting every week. so was born, "that's so last week." the main idea was to try something for seven days and hopefully gain something from it, be it a new vision, a new passion or just good old fashion fun. another beautiful part about it was that it was for only seven days. who can't do something for seven days, even if it sucks? so, the idea was born. unfortunately, amelia and i were both quite busy at this time, and our lofty ideas always seemed more impressive than us. fast forward to now. a few nights ago my flat mate ross and were visiting our other mate, kristin, and he asked me what my goals and hopes for the week were. seeing as it was a sunday night, this seemed like a nice idea, thinking about the upcoming week and hopefully planning some positive goals. this reminded me of "...last week," and i told ross about it, half jokingly suggesting we revive it. much to my happiness ross seemed quite tickled by the idea. so, we discussed it for a bit, told kristin and made a few phone calls to get some friends in on it. now our hope is that we can get you in on it as well. so, each week i will post on here what the topic is for the week, and we hope that you will join us. we would also greatly enjoy it if you had any thoughts or suggestions on what to do that make this more fun, or new topics to tackle. so far we've got ideas to do draw a picture a day, stretch every morning, listen to only jazz, and various other things, but we'd love to hear what you've got. so, here it is. if you'd like to post here as well, i'd love that, and would be happy to figure out how to set that up. i hope you all enjoy this as much as i hope to. thanks for everything, and happy weeking.
