draw a picture
last week was a good one, but reading books isn't necessarily all the new and exciting. regardless, it was nice to put some time aside to catch up on some bookage.
so, this week we're drawing pictures. that's right folks, one picture a day. now, this is an opportunity to really attempt a solid picture, especially if you can get your hands on a copy of 'drawing on the right side of the brain,' by betty edwards. i think that's her name. regardless, if you do the lessons, you'll definitely see results. if not too seriously, enjoy doodling something a bit more real than you normally would, and somewhere semi-permanent, like a journal or at least hung on your fridge. so, happy drawing!

Just as a side note, I think this is more about exploring a certain side of yourself rather than being strictly about drawing. In that vein, feel free to explore other forms: painting, sculpting,... Maybe just restrict yourself to something you create with your hands. Hopefully you have something you always wanted to try or get better at...

PJ! it's steve from VT. I havent checked my mail in a while, but i just did and saw this email. this is such a great idea. I've always wanted to take like a whole week to try something new, or improve something, and ive never been fully motivated to really do that. thank you for this motivation! im at school in chicago now, at Columbia College Chicago, so if you ever need a show out here, i can hook you up.
